30 Wild Children’s Books to Discourage Reading Early
Reading is one of the many joys in life, and it’s a habit best introduced early. Children can learn patience, a lesson from a great story, and most of all the virtue of knowledge. And then, every once in a while, a children’s book comes along that may traumatize and destroy young brains.
We’re personally fascinated by Mr. Nogginbody, who looks like some sort of knock-off Humpty Dumpty. Also, the works of Judith Vigna, which seems like an attempt to get children to grapple with hard situations. Which is a great sentiment. But out of context, “I Wish Daddy Didn’t Drink So Much” and “My Big Sister Takes Drugs” just seem hilarious, wildly wrong.
Dive into this library of reads meant to illuminate, but more likely terrify, the young malleable minds of society.
